Robert L. Siers

Robert Lee Siers was born in Spencer, WV on June 13, 1937 to Brooke Siers and Maxine Webb. In his early years he was under the watch care of his grandparents. When he was nine years old, he moved in with his aunt and uncle, Guy and Violet Miller, who raised Bob as their own son. He delivered newspapers while in elementary school, worked in the oil fields as a teenager, and served as a volunteer fireman in high school. Bob and Martha Jane Reynolds met at Spencer High School in West Virginia and were united in marriage on March 3, 1956. They had three children Kimberly Susan, Teresa Lynn and John Mark.

After working for the Hoover Corporation, Bob began his 40-year career with the Pitney Bowes Corporation in 1955. Beginning as a service technician, Bob’s responsibilities grew until he ultimately became the regional service manager for Pitney Bowes over the northeastern United States. In his free time, Bob enjoyed working on cars and was always ready to help friends and neighbors to fix their vehicles.

Bob Siers placed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as His Savior and followed the Lord in baptism in 1954. Over the years, Bob and Martha lived in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida. They always attended Bible preaching churches wherever they lived and most recently, upon moving to Florida, they joined the Volusia County Baptist Church in Orange City.

God called Bob home to Heaven on March 8, 2018 at 80 years of age. Bob is survived by his wife Martha of Deland, FL; sister Susanne and her husband Ralph Nichols of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Kim and her husband Tom Pauley of Lancaster, CA; daughter Terri and her husband Chris Tipps of Frisco, TX; son Mark and his wife Hope Siers of Deland, FL; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 10 at 1:00 p.m. and the memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. at Volusia County Baptist Church in Orange City, FL. The interment will follow the memorial service at Deltona Memorial Gardens at 1295 Saxon Blvd., Orange City, FL.

Bob was one of the very few people in my life who I sincerely enjoyed working for. Bob had the ability to make each day somehow enjoyable so that it really wasn't work. It's been great knowing you sir !

He will be sadly missed by so many. Best sales manager a service man could have. Sense of Humor as our Cleveland branch allowed us to dress him up in Swiss clothes and cowboy clothes for parties for Oval Club. Even directed a rag-tag group of Pitney Bowes people who amazed Oval Club. Lots of good times with Bob. Gary Steiner, Huron, OH

What a great leader. The best I ever worked for. He was missed when he retired, as a friend and a co-worker. He will be missed by many. Love to all who new him. It was a honor for me.
