Osteen, FL, age 73, died on Saturday. February 21, 2015 at West Volusia Hospice Care Center in Orange City. A Florida native, Roy was born September 23, 1941 in Howie in the Hills. He joined the Army out of high school and retired in October, 1980. He worked for NASA another 10 years before retiring again. He loved fishing, playing poker and photography.
He is survived by his 4 daughters, Annette (John) Harper, Christeen Sweat, Sherry (Brian) Bortell and Theresa Sweat; grandkids, James Mason, Robert Fakess, Kiri Simon, Cameron Marks, Kelly Fakess, Ben Smith, Richard Smith, Shawn Sweat, Cassey Sweat, Tyler Sweat and Hanna Sweat; great grandkids, Briana Mason, Stephen Tinney, Hunter Simon, Rylee Smith and Aubree Smith; sister, Louise (Dennis) Helsley, nephew, Jeff Abbott; other relatives and dear friends.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11 am at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd.,Orange City.
