Ruth Mae Sheridan died on August 22, 2026 at the age of 101. Born and raised in the railroad and coal town of Connellsville, PA, Ruth led an interesting life. True to her blue collar roots, she was a battleship welder in Baltimore Harbor in WWII, raised a large family, and spent 24 years as an industrial machine operator at 3M before retiring to Deltona Florida in 1985.
Ruth was the matriarch of a large family, including six children. She is survived by her daughters, Crystal and Mary, her son John, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday August 29th 10:00 AM - 12 PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, Orange City, FL followed by the funeral service from 12:00 - 12:30 PM at the same location. A lunch reception will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 at the Holiday Inn, 180 Fenway Dr., DeLand FL.
