Uncle Tom & I had the same middle name, "Wayne". My mom had some really interesting stories of them growing up together. Knowing him, I'm pretty sure they are all true. He was a funny, uninhibited, kind man. He & Aunt Connie raised 6 terrific kids. I'll miss him.

I spent years looking for Uncle Tom before the internet....was always looking in Illinois though. When I found an address in Florida, I took a chance and sent a card to him. I was so glad when I received a letter back from my sweet Uncle. I remember his and aunt Connie's visits to our home in Georgia, and especially when I stayed with the family for several weeks one summer. It was a wonderful visit and a cherished memory. I was scolded once for waking the baby Kathleen up before it was time. I just wanted to play with her. Tom and Connie's whole schedule was then out of whack. But they forgave me. My sisters and I all agree he was the sweetest man we had ever met, and we loved him.

Our sincere condolences to Connie Lloyd and the Collier family. I had the pleasure of knowing “Big Daddy” during my employment with John Knox Village. He was a quite the comedian. He’ll be missed.
