Born on December 3, 1932, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Vicente lived a life rooted in love, humility, and unwavering devotion to his family. On August 17, 1956, he married the love of his life, Leila Luz Martinez Serrano, beginning a beautiful marriage that spanned nearly seven decades. Together they built a home filled with faith, love, laughter, and countless treasured memories.
For many years, Vicente worked as a handyman, earning the respect of all who knew him through his dedication, dependability, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He believed in the value of honest work and took great pride in providing for those he loved.
Above all else, Vicente's greatest passion was his family. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family. Whether gathered around the table, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying one another's company, those moments brought him his greatest happiness.
Vicente also loved the friendly competition and fellowship that came with a good game of dominoes, a pastime that brought family and friends together for countless hours of laughter. He was a devoted fan of baseball, enjoying the excitement and tradition of the game throughout his life. Music also held a special place in his heart, filling his home with joy and creating the soundtrack to so many cherished family memories.
Vicente is lovingly survived by his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Leila Luz Martinez Serrano; his daughters, Yvonne Serrano Phillips and Joanne Serrano; and his cherished grandchildren, Neena Cherie Lugo, Ashley Nadine Lugo, Erica Nicole Oates, and Jordan Devonte Oates. He is also survived by his brothers, Americo, Lena, Eliseo, Oscar, Gilberto, and Jaime; his sisters, Juanita and Elena; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by his love and kindness.
Though Vicente's physical presence is no longer with us, his legacy of love, strength, generosity, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, Florida 32763.
The Serrano family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the many expressions of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. They invite all who knew and loved Vicente to join them in celebrating a life well lived and a man whose greatest legacy was the family he loved so dearly.
