Vivene E. Roper Grant was born to Cyril George Johnson and Linett Nightengale Johnson. She was born in St. Catherine Jamaica West Indies on February 7, 1945. She attended Clarendon College and Excelsior High School in 1964.
Her nursing training began at the University of West Indies Hospital in 1968. From there she worked at Spanish Town Hospital. She migrated to the United States in 1970.
Vivene was married to Rev. Edly M. Roper in the 1970s. Together they pastored churches in New York and New Jersey.
She had a passion for soul winning and helping people. She loved to garden. She loved fishing. She had a very happy heart.
She loved to laugh. Her laughter was very contagious.
She is survived by her one and only daughter Nichole, her sister Carol E. Johnson, Dr. Hilma Tomlinson, and Carl Johnson, many family members and a host of nursing friends throughout her 50 years working in nursing.
A public visitation for Vivene will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Blvd, Orange City, FL 32763, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
