Age 85, of Longwood, FL passed away on December 13, 2017 in Orange City, FL. Born April 21, 1932 in Annapolis MD to Griffith H. and Annie R. Stokes Kies, he moved to Central Florida in 1952. He was a retired service manager for Ryder Truck Rental. An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Kies was a member of Stetson Baptist Church in DeLand, FL. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Irma Jean Kies, daughters Diane (Martin) Albright and Elaine (Kent) Klonel, grandchildren Wilbert Kies III, Samantha Milewitz, Laverda Augustine, Kristina
Albright, Amie Carson, Joshua Schwenn, Rebecca Klonel, and Brooke Klonel, six great-grandchildren, brother Buzz Kies and sisters Anna Lou, Martha, Jessie and Pearl. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kies was predeceased by his son Wilbert T. Kies, Jr. and his sister Carrie.
The family will receive friends at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 19th from 10 am until 10:45 am, with a Service to follow immediately. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Orlando.
