Alice C. Averitt

Alice E. Collins Averitt, age 90, passed away February 17, 2012. She was born in Dowling Park, FL and had lived over 60 years in Jacksonville. Mrs. Averitt retired from Simmons Mattress Company and was a member of Hope Baptist Church and Faith Memorial Baptist Church. She was the widow of the late Dannie B. Averitt, and is survived by her children Marion Townsend (James), Rosa Maffey (Robert) and Dannie Lee Averitt (Ruth Ann), 2 sisters Marvel Crown and Marie Gentry(Johnny), 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park FL 32068 with Rev. Bob Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville.
