Anthony Wayne Oxford Sr., age 67, passed away in Waycross, GA surrounded by his family on Monday, September 24, 2018. He was born on September 19, 1951in Bluefield, WV to the late Sherman and Katherine (Dixon) Oxford. Wayne devoted most of his life serving as a Lieutenant Deputy Sheriff with the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Young Oxford. Three children, Melissa Seehafer (Joel), Anthony Oxford Jr, Cindy Holmes (Jeff). Five grandchildren, Logan & Caleb Seehafer, Tyler Oxford, Taylor & Hunter Holmes. Brothers, Tommy Oxford, Jerry Oxford (Debbie). Sister, Bunny Kelly (Donald). Brothers-in-law, Robert Young (Amanda), Edward Young (Ginny). Sister-in-law, Peggy Salvati (Paul) and the late Mary Ruby (Jack), Including numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and fellow law enforcement brothers.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018, at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Middleburg, 2645 Blanding Boulevard, Middleburg, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police, Clay County Lodge 104.
