Audrey Elizabeth Fonvielle, born Audrey Elizabeth Hardenbrook on January 1, 1924 in Jacksonville, Florida passed away December 4, 2020 in Fleming Island, Florida. Audrey attended Doctors Inlet Elementary and Clay High school where she graduated 2nd in her class of 1941. At around age 10, she went to work after school in the Doctors Inlet bulb fields where they grew gladiolus and tulips to help support her and her mom. After graduating high school, she went to work for the government in 1943 at Camp Blanding, and later she transferred to the Naval Shipyard in Green Cove Springs until 1958. From 1960 to 1966, she drove a school bus in Clay County. In 1967, she went to work at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station and worked civil service until she retired in 1979. She was loved by all and had a great impact on everyone she came in contact with.
Audrey was a hard worker all her life and received Christ at a young age, 5 years old. She was a dedicated Christian and was the driving force behind the founding of Fleming Island Baptist Church. Services were held in her home for several years until the church was built. Audrey was married to Earl Fonvielle for 56 years and was dedicated to her family. She was preceded in death by father Lewis Hardenbrook; her mother Pearl Hardenbrook; and her brother Arveid Hardenbrook. She is survived by two sons Daniel and his wife Mindy, and Timothy and his wife Dawn, along with Carroll her step son and his wife Dianna Fonvielle. She is survived by eight grand children Annie, Sara, Jared, Troy, Charles, David, John and Carolyn. She is also survived by eight great granchildren and preceded in death by infant great grand child, Kieran.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at CrossPointe Church, 1871 County 220, Fleming Island, FL 32003. The family will receive friends one hour prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Peoria Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday after the funeral services.
