Avis L. Pearson

Avis L. Sapp Cercy Pearson was born July 12, 1927 at home in Green Cove Springs Clay County Florida. Avis was a loving mother and dedicated wife. She worked many years as a bookkeeper, but she lived her true calling as a minister’s wife. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, attending church and laughing. She died January 6, 2015 in Valdosta, Georgia after a lengthy illness.

Avis was preceded in death by her father; Henry H. Sapp, mother; Ina rose DeBolt Sapp, daughter; Cynthia Marcel Cercy Higginbotham, husbands; Rev. J.C. Cercy, August 1985 and Rev. James D. Pearson, May 2005, sisters; Elzabeth Sapp, Celeste Sapp, Ruby Sapp Church and Edna Sapp Reins, brothers; Clyde Sapp and Henry Everett Sapp, Grandchildren; Trina Ann Cercy and Jason Loren Cercy, Great Grandchildren; Ashlyn Grace Yeomans, and Son in Law; Leonard Yeomans.

She is survived by sons and daughter in laws; James (Brenda) Cercy, Alvin (Jane) Cercy, Douglas (Judy) Cercy and Steven (Toni) Cercy, and daughters and son in law; Lucille (Frank) Kirkland and Donna Yeomans, 21 grandchildren and 39 Great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, Florida, Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 12pm. Viewing for relatives and friends at 11am- 12pm. She will be laid to rest in her family plot at Peoria Cemetery, Drs. Inlet, Florida.
