Catherine S. Hill

Catherine Shank Hill, 73 years old died on June 28, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents Mack Roy Shank and Evelyn Cleveland Shank, and her husband Charles R. Hill. Catherine is survived by her son Charles “Andy” Hill (Tonia); 2 grandchildren: Christopher and Shannon; and a brother, Roy Shank.

Catherine was a life member of the Gateway Girl Scouts, starting in grade school as a Brownie Scout at Fishweir Elementary School, and remained active throughout her life as a leader. Catherine was employed by the City of Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department as a Handicrafts Director among its many playgrounds.

A memorial service will be held 2 PM on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the family’s residence, 2017 Lakeshore Drive North, Jacksonville, FL. Her remains will be cremated and her ashes scattered in her garden at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Gateway Girl Scout Council, the North Florida Boy Scout Council, or to Community Hospice.
