A man of steady devotion and deep faith, Charles lived with quiet courage and a generous spirit—meeting each season of life with thoughtfulness, loyalty, and a kind-hearted regard for others. He will be remembered as beloved and cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him, and as an inspiration through the example he set in both word and deed.
Charles served his country with bravery and unwavering commitment, completing two tours in Vietnam in the United States Navy and later serving in Desert Storm in the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged after a dedicated lifetime of service to his country and fellow man—work marked by discipline, selflessness, and a steadfast sense of duty.
Beyond his service, Charles embraced life with an adventurous spirit and a warm sense of humor. He enjoyed flying as a private pilot in his small plane, fishing, and riding his Harley motorcycle. After retirement, he continued to give of himself by becoming a National Rifle Association Instructor, sharing knowledge with the same patient generosity that defined so much of his life.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 28 years, Maria L Martin; children and grandchildren; siblings; numerous nieces and nephews; life long friends; his New Beginnings Church family; and his fur baby, Cutter.
