Charles Raymond Moore, 84, passed on October 9, 2026. Born May 12, 1942, in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Mr. and Mrs. Moore. Charles lived in Orange Park, Florida, and will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection by all who knew him.
Throughout his life, Charles carried himself with steady honesty and quiet wisdom—hard-working in his commitments, thoughtful in his care for others, and devoted to the people and responsibilities placed in his path. He was a cherished and beloved presence in his family, faithful in his love, generous in spirit, and resilient through life’s changes. Along the way, his humor offered welcome lightness, and his brave, adventurous heart showed in the way he served and the way he lived.
Charles served in the US Army from June 1963 until June of 1966 as a communications specialist in the Signal Cops. After his military service, he continued to give of himself as a volunteer firefighter for many years—an enduring reflection of his courage and sense of duty. He spent much of his career at NAS Jax, from where he also retired.
In his personal time, Charles found satisfaction in pursuits that rewarded patience and skill. He enjoyed woodworking, lathe turning, golf, and coin collecting—interests that suited his steady hands, practical mind, and appreciation for things made well and kept with care.
Charles is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marcia; his younger brother, Robert Moore; his two children, Cynthia and Charles and his wife and caregiver Sarah, and his grandson, Jon.
