David Patrick Mecca Jr., 66, passed away on August 2, 2018 in Middleburg, FL after short illness. He was born in Brockway, PA and served in the US Air Force. Survivors include his wife of 45 years Barbara(Clifford) Mecca and two children: David "Patrick" Mecca III, and Deborah J Mecca; sister: Diane M (William) Hoffman; brother: Duane (Marlene) Mecca. Nieces Jennifer Patterson (Jesse G.), Julie Patterson, Carisa(Troy) Mecca-Burke, and proceeded in death by David P (Doris Raybuck) Mecca Sr., and niece Shannon Mecca. David was a Graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Aeonautics Class of 1972 as Aircraft Mechanic and then enlisted in United States Air Force having been stationed in Tucson Az at Davis Monthan AFB. He continued his career in Aviation at Northrup Gruman (Savannah, Ga), then NASA1 (Newport News, Va), and his remaining 34 years at Pegasus (GCS, Fla.) He attended Southern Career College (Jacksonville, Fla.) At age 60 with degree in Computer Aided Design. He was an Avid lover of all things aircraft, classic cars, hunting, and his family and friends. He is known best for his Unique sense of humor, willingness to serve and help others, and his huge heart. Visitation will be held 11:30 to 12:30 PM, Tuesday, August 7, 2018 with funeral services at 1 PM, Tuesday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL with Bishop Tom Price officiating. Burial will be in Bridgeville, PA at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in honor of Mr. David P.
