David graduated from Robert E. Lee High School with the Class of 1970. He went on to continue his education at Brigham Young University, where he was a proud member of the marching band and played on the university's rugby team. He graduated with a Bachelors in Construction Management.
A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, David served faithfully in many callings throughout his life. As a young man he served a mission for his church in the southern Texas area, a testament to his deep faith and commitment to service.
David was sealed to his sweetheart Carol Carleton in the Washington D.C. LDS Temple in June of 1976. Together, they nurtured a close-knit family, finding joy in shared moments and cherishing the blessings of time spent together.
After returning to Jacksonville, David built a life rooted in hard work and community. He began a successful career in construction, eventually running his own business. Later, he found a second calling as a teacher, where he shared his knowledge and mentored young minds with dedication and kindness.
David will be remembered for engaging in conversation with all he met, his ability to tell a great story, his immense love of BYU Football and his interest in classic cars. He always made his best efforts to be at all of his children's activities as they grew. A tradition he lovingly continued with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him Pa.
