Donna Gail Kirksey, age 68, of Jacksonville, Florida passed from this life peacefully on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Her quite persistent faith gives us assurance that she is in the presence of Jesus and has been reunited with loved ones passed.
Donna was born on January 26, 1954 in Maryville, Tennessee to James and Regina Kirksey. During her life, she was a long-time resident of Pensacola, Florida. Donna graduated from Escambia High School i 1973 then went on to pursue a college education. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of South Alabama.
Donna joined the Navy in 1978 and served her country faithfully as a Aviation Electronics Technician First Class. On March 31st, 1998, Donna transferred from active duty military to retirement after twenty years of honorable service.
After retirement , Donna continued to pursue her education and achieved a Master's Degree from Webster University in Human Resources Development and Management. Donna loved her family with her whole heart and was proficient at keeping everyone connected. She enjoyed shopping trips with her friends and family. A true child at heart, Donna's home was filled with the toys and collectables that she adored. Donna favored colored lighthouses, ships, figurines, and fluffy stuffed toys.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents James and Regina Kirksey.
Donna is survived by her brother Richard Steven Kirksey; sisters Ellen Meacham and Linda Gordon; nieces Clarissa Laseter and Jennifer Wright; nephews Blake Meacham, Luke Meacham, and Carter Lewis ; great nieces Lauren Wright, Pricilla Meacham and Airelle Meacham and great nephews Harrison Wright, Benjamin Lewis and Duncan Lewis.
A visitation for Donna will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
