

Doris Maxine Harris, 94, passed away October 27, 2017. She was born February 1, 1923, in Tampa, FL. Mrs. Harris is survived by two sons, Dr. C. M. Harris, Brent Harris, and one daughter Brenda Mckinnon all of Orange Park, FL, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Rev. C. M. Harris. She had numerous hobbies including doll collecting, seamstress, crocheting, ribbon embroidery, shopping, and she was an excellent cook. She was a member of doll clubs throughout the State of Florida, member of the Red Hat Society, member of the LWWB in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. In her early life she earned a bachelor’s degree and became a member of the Church of God. Many wonderful characteristics come to mind to describe Mrs. Harris: Loving, kind, generous, soft spoken, grateful, unselfish, slow to anger, funny; these all helped her care for her family and her pets Beau, Harley, and Marley. In her retirement she spent her summers in North Carolina. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL 32073. Visitation will be November 1, 2017, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with service beginning at 1:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home. Graveside service and committal will be November 4, 2017, at 11:00 am at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Tampa, FL.
