Dwight G. Kearns, Jr., 74, went home to be with the Lord January 26, 2011. Born in Pensacola, FL, Dwight moved to Clay County in 1953. Mr. Kearns was a career Law Enforcement Officer retiring from the Town of Orange Park Police Dept. and the Clay County Sheriff’s Office after many years of service. Survivors include his mother, Fern E. Kearns; wife, Vonnie F. Kearns; son and daughter-in-law, Dwight G. Kearns, III and Carmen; daughter, Corey Greenburg ; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Jimmy Whitener; 6 step-children and many grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday (today) from 6-8 pm at HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERMEAD FUNERAL HOME, 127 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday in the Calvary Assembly of God, 9 Knight Box Rd. Orange Park with Pastor John Francis, officiating.
