Eric Carl Shoup, a Navy Veteran and beloved father to six children, passed away unexpectedly on May 4th, 2021 at the age of 42. A beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend, he will be missed by his children, Olivia, Annabelle, Charlie, Garrett, Drew, and John Trenton (JT); his siblings Amy Wilson, Heather Elkhay, Dax and Bixby Bautista; parents Marlene and Ben Bautista; and his nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends.
Eric was born in Glendora, California on January 8, 1979 to Marlene Taylor and Charles Shoup. He attended Calvary Road Christian Academy and graduated from Monrovia High School. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Navy at Naval Air Station Jacksonville from 1997 to 2000.
Eric was a man whose heart had no limit and knew that family did not require blood relation. After completing his military career, he became a stepfather for Drew, Garrett, and JT. A hard worker his whole life, he became a stepfather once again when he married his wife, Jessica, on February 10th, 2017, to Charlie and Annabelle and was then blessed with Olivia (a.k.a. his mini me) with his wife Jessica. His giving personality and passion for the things he loved was also seen in his love for NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt, Kyle Busch, his love for Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins. His presence brightened any room he was in and his laugh was infectious.
If Eric had a life motto, it would be something from 'Lilo & Stitch'...'Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten." He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
