Eric Carl Shoup
January 8, 1979 – May 4, 2021
Eric Carl Shoup, a Navy Veteran and beloved father to six children, passed away unexpectedly on May 4th, 2021 at the age of 42. A beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend, he will be missed by his children, Olivia, Annabelle, Charlie, Garrett, Drew, and John Trenton (JT); his siblings Amy Wilson, Heather Elkhay, Dax and Bixby Bautista; parents Marlene and Ben Bautista; and his nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends.
Eric was born in Glendora, California on January 8, 1979 to Marlene Taylor and Charles Shoup. He attended Calvary Road Christian Academy and graduated from Monrovia High School. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Navy at Naval Air Station Jacksonville from 1997 to 2000.
Eric was a man whose heart had no limit and knew that family did not require blood relation. After completing his military career, he became a stepfather for Drew, Garrett, and JT. A hard worker his whole life, he became a stepfather once again when he married his wife, Jessica, on February 10th, 2017, to Charlie and Annabelle and was then blessed with Olivia (a.k.a. his mini me) with his wife Jessica. His giving personality and passion for the things he loved was also seen in his love for NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt, Kyle Busch, his love for Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins. His presence brightened any room he was in and his laugh was infectious. If Eric had a life motto, it would be something from 'Lilo & Stitch'...'Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten." He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Eric Carl Shoup

Eric loved to listen to his music from the 90's while working as a GM and while doing his duties as McDonald's maintenance man. Eric was never disrespectful to anyone. He treated people how he would like to be treated. He loved his job and always gave 100 percent in work and in his personal life. He was a wonderful employee and friend. He will greatly be missed. God has another Angel in the heavens.

what to say Uncle Eric was more than and uncle to me he was like an older brother since he was only 9 years older than me. From saying he was gonna kick my butt if I didn't start acting right as I was growing up to now supporting me through one of my biggest changes in life transitioning. My uncle was one of kind like my brother and sister said always being the first one to call to wish happy birthday and on the holidays as well. I will always cherish and remember those days I had with him but he left a part of him with us Olivia which is the next best thing even though I haven't met her yet I hear she is his mini me so I look forward to that. You will always be in my thoughts and memories Uncle Eric I love you

So many memories over the past 42 years with my baby brother, but my best memories are the years we have spent living near each other, raising or families together, sharing holidays and celebrating birthdays. The three most cherished memories with Eric are the day he asked me to and I performed his wedding to Jessica, the day he and Jess asked me to be Olivia's Godmother and said they would be naming her after me (we share middle names), and the day little Olivia Mary Shoup was born....seeing my brother brought to tears from joy brought such joy to my heart. He was, is, and will always be the best brother and my best friend. I will carry him with me in my heart always. I love you and miss you every second of every day my little brother. You big sis always, Heather

I remember when my uncle would call me at 5am to be the first one to tell me happy birthday. Hearing him say I miss yall and I would always pick on him. Him telling me I should just move out there and I kept saying no thank you. I miss you so much uncle Eric.

My uncle Eric was always a goofball. We would always pick on each other every time we talked but we were always having a laugh. I’m gonna miss the messing around and easy things we would say to each other. I’m also going to miss him saying happy birthday to me every year before anyone else does.
