
Floyd George Carter, son of the late Bryant and Selma Mae Monroe Carter passed away peacefully September 3, 2012. Floyd was born at home, the sixth of seven children in Doctor’s Inlet, FL. After graduating from Clay High School with the Class of 1953, he served in the National Guard for 14 years and also served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was later employed by Jacksonville Shipyards as a Machinist until his retirement in 1990. He married Beulah D. McLane in 1987 and gained a son, Tim, with this union. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling, Nascar and his Florida Gators; however, nothing could compare to his love for his grandsons, Timothy and James.
He leaves behind his sister, Melba Williamson, his wife, Beulah D. McLane-Carter, “son” Tim McLane, Grandsons Timothy and James McLane and their mother, Cindy Malinchak-McLane, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends (Tonight) from 6 to 8 PM at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home,127 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL 32073.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Ridgewood Baptist Church, 939 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, Florida. Post tributes at www.hardagegiddensrivermead.com
