On January 15th, 2023, Ms Frankie “Kay” Porterfield (Ashford) went to be with her Lord Jesus. Ms Kay was born on January 11, 1949 in Piney, Virginia to her mother Mary Georgia “George” Porter and father Frank Harris Ashford. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years Robert (Bob) Porterfield along with her two daughters Kimberly Mills and Robin Lane. She was the proud “Grandma” of three granddaughters Kaylee Wolff, Ashlee Taliaferro, and Cheyenne Mills along with four great grand children, (Ashlinn, Amithist, Axel, and Harper).
Kay was a long time member of the methodist church and attended Calvary United Methodist for more than 20 years. She enjoyed singing in the choir along with helping anytime or anywhere she was needed. In her spare time, you could always find Kay with a new romance novel or going to the movies (which had to include popcorn no matter the circumstances) with her family. Something that always made Kay happy was her cruises. She was always happy and ready to go on any cruise no matter the amount of time or where the boat was taking her. Kay always enjoyed a good adventure especially if it was with her family.
Please join Kay’s family for the celebration of her life on February 4th, 2023. A visiting hour will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life service from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home at 127 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, Florida, 32073. The family request bright and happy colors only. Kay’s favorite color was teal.
