Georgia E. Joplin, 81, passed away on October 4, 2026. Born on August 31, 1945, in Valley Head, West Virginia, Georgia was the daughter of the late Wilda Irene (Channell) and Arlo Roy Ware. She lived in Orange Park, Florida, and will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who were blessed to know her.
Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her knew that she was one of the kindest, funniest, and easiest people to get along with. But let me tell you, she was little feisty and was never afraid to speak her mind. She would never give up on something or someone. She always saw the best in people, and she was one of the hardest workers that any one has ever known. She will always be known for her Blimpie burgers and homemade fries that she made for so many.
She was so much more than a mom or grandma. She was someone anyone could count on, someone who was always there, someone who loved you unconditionally. She turned a house into a home for her family and so many more.
Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Earl Edwin Joplin, Sr., and siblings; Irene Darriago, Charles Ware, Dora Bond, Laymen Ware, Murrill Ware, Carolyn Hamrick and Regina Louk. She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Judith Tarver, Tina Muse, and Eddie Joplin (Lucy); her sisters, Joy Green and Sue Collett; her grandchildren, Morgan Muse, Madison Muse, Alicia Gatlin (Taylor), and Alexis Tate (Logan); her great-grandchildren, Booker Muse, Noah Gatlin, Brantley Gatlin, Eleanor Gatlin, Evelyn Tate, and Oakleigh Tate; as well as extended family and friends who will continue to cherish her memory.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Boulevard, Orange Park, FL 32073, US, on October 11, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Pastor Bill Clayton will officiate.
