Gerald Eugene Brown, 79, passed away on October 6, 2019 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born in Iowa City, Iowa and retired from the United States Navy. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary E. Brown; son, Russell Eugene (Darlene) Brown; daughter, Michelle Kathryn (Harley) McNeal; sister, Wanda Rose Ritter; 6 grandchildren: Heather Ockenhouse, Hillary Silva, Corey Brown, Christina Williams, Mackenzie McNeal and Harley McNeal; 6 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Friday, October 11, 2019 at First Coast Baptist Church, 7587 Blanding Blvd, Jacksonville, FL with visitation held from 9 to 9:30 AM. Pastor Robert Riley will be officiating. Burial will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery with full military honors.
