

Glenn M. Sonnenberg, 77, went to be with the Lord peacefully in his home in Orange Park, FL on April 12, 2015. His last days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Sonnenberg was born on June 5, 1937 in Westfield, WI to Aleda Ester and Alvin Sonnenberg. Early in his career Mr. Sonnenberg was a Sherriff for Kenosha County Sherriff’s Department in WI where he retired in 1986 and moved with his wife and two of his daughters to Orange Park, FL. Mr. Sonnenberg there spent a long career with the Clay County School Board Transportation Department and retired again in 2010. Mr. Sonnenberg was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In his younger years, he loved to dance around the living room, play golf and ride on his motorcycle. As life slowed
down he loved the road trips home to see family, occasional camping trip in the RV and refurbishing John Deere tractors. Mr. Sonnenberg is survived by his wife of 32 years, Christine; his sisters, Jean Barry, Doris Poole and Joy Bork; his children, Pam Eckardt (Mark), Scott Sonnenberg (Terry), Teresa Watson (John), Richard Johnson (Yuki), Amy Blanton (Don) and Rebecca RuBright (Scott); 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and many other family members and friends. Mr. Sonnenberg is preceded in death by his mother Aleda Ester; Father Alvin Sonnenberg and brother Lyle Jungenberg.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday April 16, 2015 10:00am for family visitation and 11:00am service Hibernia at Hyde Park Baptist Church 2000 Lane Ave. S Jacksonville, FL 32210
