Helen Lola Stephenson, age 103, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023. She was born on October 6, 1919, in Norfolk, Virginia. Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William "WJ" Jasper Stephenson. Together they have four children: William "Jack" Jasper Stephenson, Virginia "Ginny" Williams (Jimmy), Gail Baker (Fred), and Roberta "Bobbie" Lee. She has seven grandchildren: Jill Scheurer, Melissa Bautista, Jennifer Canger, Laurie Sinton, Justin Stephenson, Bryan Lee and Joshua Baker. She has 18 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Helen graduated in the Spring of 1939 from Hamlet High School in North Carolina. She was the last survivor of her graduating class.
Helen was an artist, a gardener and avid reader. She loved to fish and to travel. She enjoyed karaoke, solving puzzles and most of all spending time with her family. Helen was a member of the Woman's club in Crescent City and a member of the EX-POW club of Gainesville. She was a loving mother and an inspiration to all that knew her. Helen will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Memorial Services will be held on April 24, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home Rivermead Chapel, 127 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073.
