Janet was born on November 28, 1970 in Lilburn, GA to Edward and Mildred (Kelley) Watts. On April 7, 1991, Janet married Michael Stanick Sr. and gained a stepdaughter, Samantha. Together, Janet and Michael had three children, Kayla, Tiffany, and Michael Jr.
Janet was a dedicated Navy Wife who acted as a Command Ombudsman for many years. She was always active within her children’s schools and could often be found volunteering with the PTA. Janet was an incredible mother and grandmother. One of the great joys in her life was spoiling her three grandsons, Christian Jr, Talon, and Luka. Janet never met a stranger and enjoyed hosting and cooking for friends and family. She was known for her quick wit, spunky personality, infectious laugh, and her always freshly manicured nails.
Janet was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred, and her father, Edward. She is survived by her husband, Michael Stanick Sr, daughter Kayla (Christian) Grant, daughter Tiffany (Walker) Sims, son Michael Stanick Jr, step-daughter Samantha Smith, three grandsons; Christian Jr, Talon, and Luka Grant, three brothers, Edward, Randy, and Glen, and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 18, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm at HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERMEAD FUNERAL HOME, 127 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073. A Burial service will be held on July 19, 2019 at 2pm at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218. Please post words of comfort at www.hardage-giddensrivermead.com.
