Jessica Holmes was so much to so many people from all walks of life. She truly cared about everyone that she came in contact with and did so with such an unwavering spirit. We met each other while working together and ultimately became really good friends along the way. I'll always remember the times that she was there for me whenever I just needed someone to talk to. No matter what she may have been going through herself Jessica always made sure to check on her friends and family especially if she knew you were going through a rough patch. A diamond in the rough to say the very least. I'm going to miss you Jessica. Thank you for being so much to so many people.

My Pen
A Tribute to the life of Jessica Nicole Holmes

My pen does not want me to write.
The pen, my friend through my life,
Helping me to write about spring, summer or fall.
Allowing me to ask so many questions in life,
Crying with me when I cried,
Dancing on my desk when I was happy that I found something to write.
My pen is acting strange today and doesn’t help me to write
About a friend that I saw once or twice.
About a friend who was to me like my own child.
When I saw her, to me everything was fine.
She was smart, kind, beautiful, funny, with a kind heart.
When I saw her, to me everything was fine, but I did not see that she was in the last season of her life.
Today, after a couple of years in fight, she flew away far and far.
My pen doesn’t want me to write.
It is filled with my tears, and that is why.
No, it is not right to think that she is gone.
She lives, with no pain, in our heats.
In springs, she will be here as a bird flying around.
In winters, she will dance with the snow fall.
In summers, she will jump with the dolphins in the ocean far.
In autumns, she will shine on the top of the tallest tree colorful and alive.
We will laugh and we will cry with her memories left behind.
I asked my pen, can you help me to write the last line?
It released all my tears on my face and helped me to write…
We will miss her for every day of our lives.

I met Jessica while going through chemotherapy. She was actually the person who comforted me the most on my first treatment. I was crying and totally scared out of my mind, and she helped talk me through it. From then on, she was like a mentor to me helping me navigate the difficult road of cancer treatment. I am so thankful to have met her, and I am so grateful that God placed her in my life at a time where I definitely needed it the most. I am so sad that I only knew her for a short time, but she was an incredible woman and made a huge impact in my life.

Jessica used to always say that she and I were two of a kind. She was one of the most kindest heartfelt people I have known, and I am grateful for that. I have known Jessica for 14 years and there was never a dull moment with her. She was always thinking about others before herself especially when it came to her family. My heart goes out to her boys, husband and family may you find comfort at this difficult time. I have shared one of our memories its and oldie but goodie! Rest easy Jess
