

Josephine V. Koschak, age 87, passed away August 19, 2012. She was born in Willard, Wisconsin into a family of 12 children and had moved to Clay County in 1960. She retired from the Navy Exchange, was a member of St. Catherine’s Church and the Fleet Reserve Auxiliary Branch 91. Mrs. Koschak was a loving and supportive Navy wife throughout her husband’s career. She was preceded in death by her husband Ludwig in 1992. Josephine was the beloved mother of children, Josephine Dryden (Tom), James Koschak (Beverly), Janet Middleton (Shane) and sister, Hedwig Bauer of Wisconsin, 4 grandchildren, James Giles (Jill), Joy Marin (Rexcel), Daniel Williams and David Williams and 3 great-grandchildren, Jackson Giles, Bailey Rose Giles and Josiah Marin and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In 1985, Josephine fulfilled a lifetime dream of traveling to her parents’ homeland of Yugoslavia, visiting one of her aunts. She was well known by all her family and friends as an excellent cook, carrying on Slovenian traditional foods including Potica.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM in St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday (TONITE) from 6 to 8 PM at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL. 32073. Internment will be in Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
