Larry was as humble as he was talented. True icon of the music industry, but never let it go to his head. Friended Larry at the legendary Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake Iowa, and got to know him. When they played in Hampton, Iowa quite a few years later, he remembered my name.  .38 Special was great about signing autographs and greeting fans after their shows. I took a picture for a family with the band as they were just getting on the bus, but accidentally hit the erase button deleting their picture and felt horrible, Larry seen what I did and got all the members to come back off the bus and take another pic. RIP   LJ

Condolences from Mendota, IL to all of Larry’s family and friends.  Being a fan of 38 Special, one of the most fan friendly bands ever, I  have seen many of their concerts over the years. I was fortunate enough to meet and talk to all the guys several times after shows. Larry was always kind and fun to talk to, and we had a few  conversations about NASCAR that I enjoyed. RIP Larry.

I saw 38 special several times and I thought LJ was the greatest bass player. He will be sadly missed. To 38 Special Larry is with God now rocking heaven with Ronnie. Larry I will miss you dearly.

I met Larry in 1998, when 38 Special played in Springfield, Virginia. The first thing I said to him was, "You guys sounded great. Now tell me about your time in Lynyrd Skynyrd"! Lol. Being a die hard fan of Skynyrd and Southern Rock, I was eager to learn from a founding member about their early days, recordings, and of course my hero Ronnie Van Zant. He answered questions, signed autographs, and over a period of time I considered him a friend. His passing touched me personally, he will be missed by friends and fans worldwide. Rest In Peace LJ, I was honored to have met you!

38 Special will always be one of my favorite bands. I grew up as a child listening to the magical sounds this band produced. Thank you so much for being a special part in my life with your music and the talent you provide

RIP Larry and prayers for the family. Being a bass player, I have always admired and respected Larry. We shared another interest Amateur Radio. What a choice for vanity call sign K4EB. “Excellent Bass” was an avid description. He was a great ambassador for the hobby of Amateur Radio and the same for music. As a fan of both Lynyrd Skynyrd and .38 Special, Larry will always be remembered as an essential member of the Skynyrd family but our memories will never replace the sorrow his immediate family are currently feeling.
My heartfelt condolences to the entire Junstrom family.

My prayers and thoughts are with the family.  I have seen 38 Special over 30 times since 1982 and met Larry in the fall of 1995 at Michigan State University prior to the band playing there . What a nice man. I was sad when he left 38 Special and really appreciated what a great bass player he was. One of the best that I ever heard. He was so underrated,  but his true fans and music lovers really were blessed to see and hear him play. God bless you Larry.  You will definitely be missed and you left a lasting impression through your music to all.

As  a fan of 38 Special for many years,  I was lucky enough to see many concerts and meet the most fan friendly band ever. LJ was such a good guy to talk to.  Condolences to his family and friends.  RIP LJ.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. I live in Biloxi, Mississippi and have always been a  .38 Special fan. I never missed a show, when I knew they were playing locally. But I pray God will give y’all strength, during this time and know you are in our prayers. 🙏

Larry and I were good friends on Ham Radio. We had many great times talking on 3945. I did get to visit Larry at his place at the lake house. I know Larry knew a  lot of people, and I can tell you, he would help any one of them that he knew. He was a friendly person and love his music. I know I will miss him very much.
