Madeline Carol Budihas, of Middleburg, Florida, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 1, 2019. She was born on September 20, 1942, to the late Joseph “Mitchell” and Velna Estelle Brite. She was a graduate of New Hanover High School and continued her education at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and taught for over 30 years.
Madeline was a devoted member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church of Orange Park, Florida. She was very active in the Clay County community and committed most of her time volunteering at the Clothes Closet in Orange Park. She also enjoyed catching up with friends and playing Bunco frequently.
Madeline is survived by her 2 sons, Christopher Budihas (married to Ameret Budihas) and Dennis “Michael” Budihas (married to Lori Budihas), and her loving grandchildren, Mitchell, Alexis “Lexie”, Courtney, Kendell, and Meson. She is also survived by her brother, Wiley “Sonny” Brite, and additional family members that live in several locations around the United States. She is preceded in death by her sister, Josephine Carolyn Gaiser and her brother, Joseph “Larry” Brite.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 5:00pm, at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 116 Foxridge Rd, Orange Park, FL 32065. A Reception and Gathering will be held in the Church hall directly after the services. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home, 127 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL 32073.
