Maxine M. Shafer, age 77, passed away February 18, 2011. She was born in Coutra Costa, California and had lived in the Duval/Clay County area since 1982. She is survived by her husband Robert K. Shafer, son Shawn Carpenter, 3 daughters Peggy Files (Rob), Genny Carpenter and Sherry Shafer; 3 sisters: Shirley Harrison, Dolores St. Marie and Dorleen Dawson; 3 grandchildren Joseph Eddy, Anthony Alaniz and Cory Marshall and 3 great-grandchildren Skylan, Kendall and Chelsie. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERMEAD FUNERAL HOME, 127 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL 32073 (904) 264-2481 with Rev. Jack Ford officiating.
