Basil, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and your loved ones. Brock is such an amazing boy. In the classroom  with his strength of character, happiness and eagerness to become the best reader  possible, with a light in his eyes shining each time he understands a new math concept, and his dedication and work ethic instilled in him at such an early age are testament to how well you, Basil and Melissa have raised him.

As one of his teachers this year and last year I can attest that Brock is the boy we truly would prefer to have a dozen of, however the nurturing and family values can not be duplicated for the other 11 Brocks. Only he can be the original. Melissa's spirit and beauty will live on in all of her children. It has been a blessing for me to know Melissa and to teach Brock.

Praying for Peace for your family .Melissa was always very kind to me, She won't be forgotten.

I am so sorry to hear about Melissa passing.  She was a sweet and wonderful person.  We meet way back when our boys Colin and Bryson were in Day Care. I will always remember her smile when we walked into the Dentist office.  May you find peace and comfort during this time, my prayers for the Basil and all of the family.

I am very sorry to hear of Melissa passing.  She was a beautiful woman, great mom and an inspiration to many.  I did not follow her whole journey but did check in from time to time and was amazed at the good fight she fought.  My thoughts and prayers to her family.

Basil, I am so deeply sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

It just doesn't seem fair that someone like Melissa must leave so soon; still with children to raise and well, really, a whole life ahead of her to enjoy. My heart goes out to all of you who are torn apart by this loss, and I will be thinking and praying for you all whenever I think of Melissa for years to come. 
I was her friend and neighbor's mom, whom she commissioned to paint a lighthouse scene in her kitchen. This was when Austin and Colin were little. Melissa was beautiful, loving, fun and spirited! I will think of her especially when I see a lighthouse, for she loved them so. Was it the Light of the World that would steer her through dark times that drew her to them? Was it her heart, to be a light in this world for her family and friends? Whatever it was, may her light shine brightly in our hearts even through these dark times of grief and loss.

My prayers and thoughts are with those you had to leave behind. The pain and suffering  is gone, spread those wings and fly. You were always a sweet friend.
