Michael Albright Rou II, 68, of Orange Park, Florida, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 17, 2026, after a courageous nineteen-year battle with leukemia and lymphoma. Throughout his journey, Michael faced every challenge with remarkable strength, perseverance, faith, and grace, inspiring all who knew him.
Born in Tallahassee, Florida, Michael was a lifelong learner whose curiosity and intellect shaped both his personal and professional life. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Florida, where he developed a passion for the Florida Gators that remained with him throughout his life. Whether cheering on the Gators, studying history, discussing politics, exploring new technologies, researching family genealogy, or planning his next travel adventure, Michael approached life with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to understand the world around him.
Michael enjoyed a successful career in pharmaceutical sales, where he was respected for his professionalism, integrity, and ability to build meaningful relationships. More important than his professional accomplishments, however, was his devotion to his faith, family, and community.
A faithful follower of Jesus Christ, Michael was a member of Pinewood Presbyterian Church for more than thirty years and served as a Ruling Elder. His faith was not simply something he professed; it was the foundation upon which he built his life. Through service, leadership, and personal example, he sought to honor God and encourage others in their walk of faith.
Michael was a devoted husband, son, brother, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Melonee Allard Rou; his mother, Linda Slaton Rou; his sister, Susan Rou Murray; his son, Michael Albright Rou III, and wife, Jamilet Rou; his son, Joshua Slaton Rou, and wife, Pauline Komulainen Rou; his two cherished grandsons; and nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Albright Rou, and is now reunited with him in the presence of the Lord.
His family was the greatest blessing of his life, and he delighted in sharing with them his wisdom, humor, interests, and unwavering love.
Those who knew Michael will remember his keen intellect, thoughtful conversations, steadfast faith, and deep love for learning. They will remember a man who persevered through adversity with courage, who remained hopeful in the face of hardship, and who trusted faithfully in God’s promises.
While his family and friends grieve his loss, they rejoice in the assurance that Michael’s long battle has ended, that he has been made whole, and that he now rests in the eternal presence of Jesus Christ. His life stands as a testimony to faith, perseverance, and the enduring power of God’s grace.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Pinewood Presbyterian Church, 198 Knight Boxx Road, Middleburg, Florida. A reception will follow at the church. Burial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Millwood Cemetery, Northwest 165th Street, Reddick, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Blood Cancer United at bloodcancerunited.org in Michael’s honor.
