Mila Mortera was a beautiful and devoted woman who loved with her whole heart. She gave selflessly to those she cherished and made certain that everyone in her life knew the depth of her love. Strong, independent, and capable, Mila lived with quiet determination and grace.
At the age of 22, Mila courageously came to the United States on her own—legally, and with the guidance of God and the support of her family. Her children proudly share her story as a testament to her strength and faith. After arriving in Hawaii, she met a service member who would later become her beloved husband.
Mila Mortera passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, at the age of 77.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, her brother, and her cherished brother-in-law. She is survived by her loving husband, Victoriano Mortera Jr.; her daughter, V. Bagtas; her son-in-law, W. Bagtas; her beloved grandson, U. Bagtas; her sister, Cecilia Dominguez; and her devoted son and best friend, VincenT Mortera.
Mila will be deeply loved, forever missed, and always remembered by all who knew her.
