OBITUARY

Patricia Y. Elliott

May 19, 1918July 4, 2018

On the 242nd celebration day of our Great Country’s Independence a Great Woman went to Heaven. Yova Patricia (Pat) Torge Elliott was 100 years and 46 Days old. She had told her family that she was going to live to be 100 and she did. A Memorial Celebration will be held at 2 PM on August 11th at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home in Orange Park, Florida. She is survived by four children, Joanne Rodgers, Ralph (Butch) Elliott, Patricia (Patsy) Klock and Stephen Elliott along with eight Grand Children and 12 Great Grand Children. She lost her own mother at the age of 14 and raised her brother Pete Torge until he joined the U.S. Marines. In 1942 she married Navy Lt Ralph E. Elliott Jr. and shortly after that he left to fly F4F Fighters in the Pacific where he was the highest scorer in Wildcats (F4F) during WWII. Their first Daughter, Joanne, was born in September 1943 and after the war they moved to Arlington Virginia where he attended George Washington University law School while still in the Navy. She studied for and received her Real Estate License, had their second child and she began a career that lasted five decades. Pat was on the Virginia State Real Estate Board for more than 20 of those years and was in the “Million Dollar Club”, when a million dollars was a lot of money, for 23 years. She was a loving, caring Mother who raised five children for nearly 40 years on her own after Ralph and she divorced. Her oldest Daughter says that the morning she died, even though she was nearly 3,000 miles away, she heard Mom talking and was sure she was there to say goodbye. Pat was fun-loving, gracious, classy, caring and a successful Realtor in Northern Virginia. Mainly, she was a supportive loving Mother who will be missed by everyone she touched. Her love was unconditional for her Family. She died peacefully on a Day the entire Country will celebrate forever. One of her favorite terms when she wanted to leave somewhere was “let’s absquatulate.” Another favorite was “wherever you go, there you are’ and now we know she has gone to our Lord to play with the rest of the angels and continue to be the “firecracker” she always was. She will always remain a Champion in our hearts and minds.
