Vickie Lynn Purvis
January 20, 1960 – February 15, 2021
Vickie Lynn Purvis was a once in a lifetime person you would ever meet. She was a light in this universe that can never be dimmed. Her presence brought joy and happiness to all that will transcend into all of time. She knew the importance of life and graciously gave all the best advice that was deeply rooted in love and held all the right answers. Love was always the right answer. Family was always the right answer. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and Nana. She loved fiercely and selflessly. Anyone that knew her soul knew it was one of the sweetest they’d ever encounter again. She was the life of the party and if you ever cranked up some Elvis or 1970’s rock she was singing every word and dancing along. Many know her for being a fast talker, but she was a slow, steady constant in our lives that always offered a safe haven. She will be deeply missed. In her honor we ask to “not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things break, and all things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally. The broken world waits in darkness for the light that is you. Be the light Vickie was and grace everyone with the kindness she did. That is what she would truly want.
Vickie Lynn Purvis is survived by her children Derek Purvis and Thim Purvis, Degan Purvis and Meru Barnes, Ashley Purvis and Van Bowen; her grandchildren Donavon Purvis, Aviana Purvis, and Eliana Purvis; her husband, Kent Purvis; her sister, Lisa Williams; her nieces Cassidy Bartlett and Tiffany Bennett; her nephew, Jeremiah Bomgardner; dear aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Lane family; and infinite loving friends.
Your love will light my way, your memory will ever be with me.

Vickie AKA Candy Girl was an AMAZING person. She gave me and my family the joy of her heart every time we saw each other. Her and KP AKA Kitchen Patrol coached my son Jay Bennett in T-ball. Our daughter Jessica Bennett Canupp never got the hang of the sport and would cry and play and Vickie was ALWAYS there to give Jessi the love, comfort, support that ONLY Candy Girl could. My husband of 41 years went to Heaven in August 2020. He and Vickie had a special assignment that only God can know. RIP to Vickie Purvis and my James Bennett AKA MV/Movin' Violation🙏🏻💕🙏🏻

I have known Vicky & Kent since we were in elementary school. I had lost contact with Kent over the years but always stayed in contact with Vicky. She was always the most sweetest kindest person you could have ever known. Her n her mother were a hoot together. I haven't talked to Vicky since she started dating Joey it was like she fell off the face of the earth. Everyone always asked have we seen her or talked to her I'm sad to say i didn't in the last couple yrs. But her kind Hippie Spirit will live on forever. She will be missed by many. My heart and prayers go out to each and everyone of her children.

I have many fond memories of Vickie from our youth. But the one that stands out most is her sweet, sweet heart and disposition. We tanned on the driveway of her childhood home with sticks of butter. This was a first for me. She always had a great tan so why not try it? And I did. We would see many more memories together as our families intertwined through our school years. Although we had been out of touch for sometime, I will never forget that sweet heart of hers. RIP Vickie....your sweet heart was a great example for many and you made a precious mark on this earth.
