William Jerry Hipps, 89, passed away on January 28, 2021 in Middleburg Florida. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee and moved to Jacksonville where he graduated from Robert E. Lee high school in 1951. He served his country proudly as Sergeant in the US Army and later graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Florida State University. He returned to Jacksonville where he was the owner and chief executive of Atlantic Venetian Blind & Drapery, Co., where he served the Southeast as an award winning wholesale manufacturer of Hunter Douglas window treatments. He was a longtime member of Ortega United Methodist Church before he and his wife Veronica (“Ronnie”) moved to Kingsley Lake in Clay County. In the last twenty years he has spent his summers in Andrews, NC where in 2010 he fulfilled his dream of building a log cabin in the mountains. Mr. Hipps is survived by Ronnie, his devoted wife of 64 years; 4 children: William Robert Hipps, Nancy Reynolds, Denise Saxton and Ronda Hipps; 9 grandchildren: Paul Hipps, Jonathan Hipps, Michelle Mock, Amanda Saxton, Michael Saxton, William Saxton, Mary Beth Reynolds, Sean Reynolds and Chris Reynolds; 3 great-grandchildren Elijah, Lia and Sawyer: and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday February 3, 2021 at HARDAGE-GIDDENS RIVERMEAD FUNERAL HOME, 127 Blanding boulevard, Orange Park Florida with visitation held 1 hour prior to service from 10-11 AM.
