Esther Davis, 78 years of age, passed on Thursday, November 30, 2019.

Esther was born September 18, 1941 in Lacey, Arkansas to the late Bertha Shaw Fields and Perry David. She was the oldest of five children, two preceded her in death (Sylvester David and Jacqueline Johnson).

Celebrating Life... Esther married Charles Davis in 1959 and two children were born from this union. Esther professed her life to Christ at an early age; she was a member of The New Haven Baptist Church. Esther was a devoted wife; traveling with her military husband and two sons from 1959 to 1984. She loved sewing, cooking, decorating, reading, homemaking, creating flower arrangements, and crossword puzzles. Esther loved to read her bible, praying for and with others, spending time with family, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving, caring person, and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.”

Esther is survived by her husband Charles Davis, sons Charles Davis III and David Davis (Tina), brothers Robert Fields (Helen) and James Fields. Granddaughters Michallie Harrison (Eric), and Dailyn Davis; 2 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Today, I said goodbye to my heart, my best friend, my grandmother, my mother, Esther Davis. Words cannot explain the love I have for you nor what you have given me in my 37 years of life. You were the one who wiped my tears, held me when I was sick, helped me with every school project, cheered on my every success and picked up the pieces when I failed. Even when I made choices that you did not agree with or knew that were not good for me, you never judged me. You just continued to love on me through it all and loved me enough to know that sometimes lessons have to be learned through experience and failures. For that, I will forever be grateful. Moma I miss you so so much. You did two full military careers, the one with granddad traveling the world and the second with me...waking up when I would call you on my way to PT, talking to me basically whenever I would call 5-6 times a day to complain about whatever, being available and answering the phone no matter what time I called when I was deployed, sending me an email in 72 size font saying HERE MISSY I EMAILED YOU when I complained that you never emailed me when I was in Iraq. Moma, I love and miss you so much...today I said goodbye but I will see you again in glory. I love you...forever your baby, Your daughter, Missy

To my beautiful Sister: Your presence will be missed but your spirit will always be with us. You set many examples for me to follow. Your personality, your voice and your face will never leave me. I love you so much and miss you already. I may not be able to make your home going celebration but know that my heart and love will be there. Big Sister I won’t say good bye because I endeavor to see you again on the other side. So I’ll just say until we meet again “Happy Trails!” I know you will be waiting with open arms. So Thank you for your support, your wisdom, your guidance and most of all your love! It’s an honor to call you my sister and I will always be your little brother! I love you so much Esther—my beautiful big sister! From your loving brother Curley!

Ester, pardon me Mrs Davis,
The first time I met you with Missy, I knew then and there exactly why Missy regarded you as the most influential person in her life , seeing and feeling that love you two shared, it was an inspiration. To have met you and your family, was an honor I will miss your presence and keep your memory with. Thank you for being you ❤️
