Frances Cannon

Frances "Fran" Cannon, nee Manno, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025 at the age of 92. Beloved Wife of the late Thomas G. for a loving 52 years. Devoted Mother of Cheryle (Greg) Fitzpatrick, Thomas J. (Michelle), Amy (Mark) Johnson, and the late Darlene. Proud Grandmother of Joseph (Lauren), Kristin (Roy) Lux, and Cassidy Johnson, and Great-Grandmother of Brad Lux, Ryan, and Avery. Loving Daughter of the late Samuel and Carmella, nee DeNapoli, Manno. Fond Sister of the late Joseph (the late Rose) Manno, and Frank (the late Betty) Manno. Aunt and Cousin of many, especially Esther (Rocco) Assise.

Fran was known for her loving, kind, and gentle nature. She was always pleasant and enjoyed having her family around her. Her playful spirit shone through in the time she spent with loved ones, creating joyful memories that her family cherished.

Fran did not shy away from trying new things; she had an adventurous side. In her 70s, she tried indoor wall climbing; determined to get to the top, she climbed quite a few pegs. During her 80s, she went on the swings at the park and giggled while trying to swing on the monkey bars. And, she never forgot her love for ice skating or roller skating.

Fran was a devout Catholic, deeply rooted in her faith. When she was unable to attend Mass in person, she faithfully watched daily Mass on her iPad, often tuning in to Cardinal Cupich’s services from Holy Name Cathedral. She would get absorbed in stories about the Popes, Francis and Leo, reflecting her devotion and passion for her faith.

A Visitation for Fran will take place Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Orland Funeral Home, 9900 W. 143rd St. Orland Park, IL 60462. Funeral to take place Thursday, November 6, 2025 with family and friends gathering directly at St. Michael Catholic Church, 14327 Highland Ave, Orland Park, IL 60462, for the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
