Glenda L Doherty

Glenda L. Doherty (née Juhlin), age 83, of Orland Park, IL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Glenda was born in Chicago on September 18, 1942, to Violet and Raymond Juhlin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Carol (the late Leonard) Peterson.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Donald; cherished mother to Donald and Kelly (Richard) Potocek; adored grandmother to Kristin (Blaine) Sinderson, Samantha (Robert) Petrick, Erik Potocek, and Jennifer (Caleb) Mrozinsky; and loving great-grandmother to Emily, Margaret, Heidi, Gavin, and Logan. She was also a dear sister-in-law aunt, great aunt and friend to many.

Glenda attended Fenger High School and enjoyed spending time in Door County. Her favorite hobbies included cross-stitching, shopping, puzzles, reading and decorating her home. Above all, her greatest joy was her family—her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial visitation and service will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Orland Funeral Home, 9900 W. 143rd St., Orland Park, IL. Family and friends may gather from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers please send donations to www.copdfoundation.org.
