Mrs Geibel was a wonderful teacher. I had her for 2nd grade. I remember taking pictures in front of the Christmas tree she would set up in her room and bringing 2G bear home. She was always so warm and kind. She will be truly missed by all. One of a kind teacher! 

I met Jan when I was 22 years old and a new teacher.  We sat next to each other on my first institute day at Taft School and she took me under her wing from that day on.  After 17 years at Taft I moved on to another district to teach and ended my career as a principal.  Jan attended my first open house as a principal and also attended an all school assembly (900 students) that we held at my school.  In my 33 years in education, I rarely met a teacher who had the same natural teaching ability as Jan.  We were colleagues for 15 years, but we were friends for 35 years.  We did not talk quite as frequently as we had...because those conversations would go on for a good hour, but I always knew I would receive a birthday card and a Christmas card from Jan.  I am most happy that I spoke with her on the phone the week before she went to heaven.  Such a great lady and a wonderful friend!!

Mrs Geisel was a wonderful person and Teacher.  Both My Sons had her and she will be truly missed.  My condolences To David and Family. 

You were one of my favorite teachers....I think I was in one of your first classes taught at Taft.  Many fond memories.  Prayers for your family <3

Mrs. Giebel was one of my absolute favorite teachers. I had T1D, and her older son did too. I always felt safe and cared for when she was my teacher. I remember in 2nd grade, she asked me to read something on the board. I was like I don't see anything on the board. Then she asked me to come over to the board and try again. Then words appeared and she figured out I needed to get glasses! She was on the ball and always watching out for her students. My deepest sympathy to the family. 

Jan was a wonderful teacher.  She saw abilities in children that were often overlooked and she encouraged them to be better.  I was always happy that my kids had her as a teacher.  If we only had more like her, the schools would benefit greatly.  She was also a neighbor and a friend.  She will be missed.  Prayers to David and family.

Mrs. Geibel was my English teacher when I was in eighth grade at Taft grade school in Lockport. When I worked for Berkot's grocery store in Lockport, Mrs. Geibel was a customer there, where she was a regular. I will miss her very much.  

Janice was a great educator, a superior mother, kind neighbor and generous spirit. You will be deeply missed. My sincerest condolences.

Dear Family of Mrs. Geibel,

   She was a amazing teacher at Taft school, she had a big heart. She was one of many teacher's I had growing up that came to my grandma's funeral and brought me a big card and choclate and held me and told me everything going to be ok. She was kinda and sweet, if I forgot my lunch she would ask the lunch ladie to get me a hot lunch and never told my mom or grandfather. She even brought me back something from the zoo. After I broke my arm, she went above and beyond as a teacher yo her students.

To the Geibel  family, I send my sincere sympathy! I had Mrs. Geibel her first year at Taft School-2nd grade. She made such an impression on me and I just dearly loved her! Many great memories including being invited to her house which was right next to the school. I loved Jackie McCarthy’s  description of her-right on point!

Mrs. Geibal was a wonderful person. She was always a great teacher. She will be missed. 

I believe I was in her first 2nd grade class at Taft, and she made a lifelong impact on me. I remember thinking she was springtime and kindness wrapped in a rainbow. I fell off my bike and was hospitalized, and Mrs. Geibel showed up at the hospital with gifts! She is my memory of a perfect teacher! She was a gift to our world.

Dear Geibel Family-

Mrs. Geibel was always my favorite teacher. I am in my 19th year of teaching and have stolen some of her quotes such as “math is logical...it has to make sense” and  using math keys to illustrate key words in math problems.  I loved how she always used humor along with structure when she taught. I always think of her (and Mrs. D’Amico)  around teacher appreciation week.  She was certainly one of a kind!

I am so very sorry to learn of Jan’s passing. 

I had the privilege of working with Jan at Taft. She was truly an inspiration to me. She served as my supervisor while I was a student teacher,  and then as a peer at Taft. She had a major influence on my professional life and I will always keep her memory in my heart. 

I have such fond memories of our time at Taft together, including the annual Halloween parades, the Christmas programs and the Spelling Bees.
