Joan Strueck, nee Misiak, passed away on March 30, 2025 at the age of 93. Beloved Wife of the late August for a loving 46 years. Devoted Mother of Susan Burke, Mary (Bruno) Para, Lisa O'Connell, and Jenifer (Thomas) Tarach. Cherished Grandmother of Michael (Kelly) Burke and Emma Burke; Julia Para and Lauren Para; Liam O'Connell, Hayden O'Connell, and Gwendolyn O'Connell; Griffin Tarach and Anna Tarach; and Great-Grandmother of Rosemary Burke. Fond Daughter of the late Charles and Harriet, nee Zielinski, Misiak.
Joan was an inspiring teacher to many young children at Hazelgreen School in Alsip for 24 years. She had a deep love for the arts, especially dance and painting. Her great joy in life was spending time with her family and traveling with her dear sister-in-law Rose Mary.
A Memorial Mass for Joan will take place Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Franciscan Village Chapel, 1270 Village Dr. Lemont, IL 60439.
