John William Brady

John William Brady, age 85, of Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly from Oak Lawn, Illinois.
John was born in Chicago, Illinois to John Francis and Florence Brady (nee Julian) on July 23, 1934. He graduated from St. Rita High School in 1952. He went on to Illinois University, left and joined the Army and finished college at Southern Illinois University. After graduation he went to John Marshall Law School and earned his JD degree. He then worked for the States Attorney's Office in the southern suburbs of Chicago. He went on to private practice in Bridgeview, Illinois. During his career he also was President of the Southwest Bar Association.
He was involved in raising money for St. Rita High School, Little Company of Mary Hospital, Mayo Clinic, the Diabetes Association and the Augustinian Priests. He was an avid hunter of ducks and geese, and longtime member of Ducks Unlimited. He also liked to play golf. He organized the Young Peoples Club of St. Killian Church in Chicago, Il. He was involved in many activities bringing young people together for bowling, dances, day trips and golf. Several marriages came from this organization. John also served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at St. Linus and St. Stephens Catholic Churches.
John is survived by his wife, Sharlanne "Shar" also of Chicago, Illinois. His children, Michelle (Dan) Brannon, James (Laura), David and the late Debra. Grandchildren Steven (Andrea), DJ, Kristen, Josh, Emily and Grace. He has nine siblings, Mary Kay, Robert (the late Beverly), Thomas (Patricia), William (Bette), Daniel (Diane), Margaret (John) Tofanelli, Michael (Mary Kay), the late James (Margery) and Florence. He has many nieces and nephews.
John was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.
