Wayne W Waiter

Wayne was the beloved husband of Sharon (nee Kennedy), with whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. He was the loving dad of Kelly (Brian) Thompson and James Waiter, and the cherished Papa of Lexa. He was also a dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Wayne was a kind, loving, and devoted family man who took great pride in raising his family. A true homebody, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life—being surrounded by the people he loved, sharing a good meal, and enjoying meaningful conversation with family and friends. One of his favorite places to vacation was Palm Beach, Florida, where he especially enjoyed making memories with those closest to him.

Wayne was a devoted Chicago sports fan, proudly cheering on the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox. His warmth, gentle nature, and love for his family and friends touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Orland Funeral Home, 9900 W. 143rd St., Orland Park, Illinois. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 14327 Highland Ave., Orland Park, Illinois. Entombment at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Orland Park.

Wayne's memory will live on in the hearts of his beloved family and friends.
