Born Agnes Shearer in Brooklyn, she lived in Oakwood and Great Kills from 1958 to 2004 before retiring to Orlando, Fl.
A graduate of St. Catherine’s School of Nursing, Agnes was a dedicated nurse for more than fifty years. She worked as a nursing supervisor at Eger Nursing Home for more than 15 years and served the community in other health care positions until her retirement.
With her loving husband of sixty-two years, Gerard, she raised six children. Agnes was also a fun-loving grandmother of eleven.
Agnes was a woman of faith who, in retirement, attended Mass daily. She was also an active member of the Victim Adorers of the Blessed Sacrament.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy and is survived by her husband and her children: Marie, Bill, Janet, Mary Ellen and Charlie as well as her grandchildren.
A memorial mass has been arranged for Saturday, January 31st at St. John Vianney Church in Orlando. Family Funeral Care in Orlando is handling the arrangements, which includes cremation.
