Alex always talked about his son Ethan and how much he loved him. He said he wanted to make him proud and there was nothing in the world he wouldn't do for his son.
It was always a blast being around him. He was extremely smart and his witty comments always brought a smile to everyone's faces. Going over on the weekends, after a long work week, we all enjoyed some refreshments and sang along to YouTube videos. He would sing his heart out, dance and play his guitar. Always saying how he wanted to be with his son more.
After he deployed, we both went our separate ways and contact became minimum. Life happens I guess. But while Alex was in Afghanistan he told me he was going to focus on getting Ethan back and doing what was right for him.
Hopefully Ethan will always know his father thought the world of him and wanted the best...
I will continue praying for Alex's family and hope we can all find some type of closure eventually and know what exactly happened that night...
We all love you Alex and are very sadden by this... Take it easy brother and keep watch over Ethan and the rest of your loving family.

Alex was my very first friend in the US, met him in 5th grade and while he struggled with his Spanish, that didn't stop him from helping me, and making my first year in school in a different country a whole lot easier and more comfortable. He invited me to his birthday party, I didn't even think he considered me that way. All my memories of starting to play guitar are with him, jamming along to Metallica. I have always been thankful of him, because it really meant a lot to me the way he treated me when I first walked into Central Five. He didn't have to help me, but he went out of his way to help me. While we had lost contact in recent years, I've always thought of him, and will forever remember him as one of my closest friends, such a big heart, just an awesome and talented guy. So glad to have been able to meet him and been part of his life. May he rest in peace, from the bottom of my heart, my most sincere condolences to all of his friends and family.
