Amy taught down the hall from me, in the 1990's, at Carver Middle School. She had such a positive attitude and was a wonderful teacher.   Full of energy and enthusiasm, she contributed so much to her students and to Carver, in general.    Condolences are extended to her family.  She will be remembered as a beautiful person, with a heartwarming, fabulous smile.

Randy words cannot express how much sorrow and sadness I feel for you and the girls. I pray that God wraps his arms around you and the girls for many days ahead knowing that Amy is resting well. In life it’s not where you go, but who you travel with.   Amy was an amazing friend and co-worker.   She had such a big heart.      I think about the great times we had traveling to the teacher stores, going to the movies and celebrating birthdays.  Friends like Amy come along only once in a life time.   I will miss you my sweet friend!

The Shelton sisters, Lillian and Frances, were closest in age and grew up together.  Their children, myself and Denise and Amy, Janice, and Tony did also.   We spent many hours together and have so many great memories.   Whenever we were in the car together going somewhere, she would sing every song on the radio.  It wasn't a problem to us because she had a great singing voice which she displayed over the years in public and weddings.   In the last number of years, our lives were in conflict and we never seemed to get to see each other very often.  But when we did, we both would give each other big hugs and updates on our lives as though we had not been apart.  She is deeply missed and taken from us too soon.   The world would be so much better if everyone had an Amy in their lives.

I had the pleasure of working with Amy at Carver and FC middle school. She was an exceptional math teacher who will sorely be missed. My sincere condolences to friends and family. 

Mrs. Ferguson was a teacher that we would consider "one of a kind". She found the potential in every student and met them where they were to help them succeed to their full potential. She created a love for education and teaching in me that followed me into my own teaching career. Mrs. Ferguson took every opportunity to make math inviting to those that were weaker, and exciting for those that already loved the subject. I appreciate all of her dedication to her students, because I now have a dedication and love for the same thing...my students.
