

Arthur Stanley Wroble, age 87, died December 5 from prostate cancer at Winter Park Hospital. He was born in Taylor, Pa. but had resided in Florida since 1959. He was a graduate from University of Scranton and was employed at Martin/Marietta Orlando for 9 years and also worked for Boeing at Cape Canaveral for a few years. His last place of employment was with OCPS where he taught Science and Math at Wyrnore School until his retirement. As a teacher he had a reputation of being "tough" but always set high expectations and standards for his students. Art was also a veteran of The United States Navy. He loved The Lord and was a former member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church until 1982 at which time he joined St Margaret Mary's Catholic Church in Winter Park and never missed a Mass in over 25 years until his health failed. He was also active in the Knights of Columbus, Art was an avid fisherman and spent many happy days at his cottage on St. John's River in Astor fishing after his retirement. The Florida Gators were his football team and never missed a game.(In fact, he will be buried in his favorite gator shirt) GO GATORS!!!! Gardening was a favorite hobby of his and he definitely had a "green thumb" especially growing orchids. Sophia Wroble, his first wife preceded him in death as well as his parents, Peter and Helen Wroblewski and three brothers, Edward, Joseph and Eugene Wroble. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Britt Wroble; daughter, Jean Schillinger (Dan); and sons, Arthur G (Mary Ellen) and Bernard P. (Linda) Wroble. Robert (Marcia), Randall and Russell Britt are his surviving step-sons. Rita Wroblewski and Sister Ermellene of PA are his surviving sisters as well as Sister Mag, a special family friend. Art is also survived by granddaughters, Sophie Stansbury (Bill), Sarah, Stacey, Donna, and Julie Wroble; and grandson, David Wroble. His step-granddaughters are Christina, Rachel and Chelsea Britt and step-grandson, Russell Gio Britt. Lauren Fox (Dusty) and Doug Schillinger are also his step-grandchildren and most recently he was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Jake and Shaylee Stansbury. POPPY LOVED THEM ALL, HIS FAMILY WAS HIS GREATEST JOY!!! A wake will be held at Carey Hand/Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Rd. on Friday, Dec. 10 from 9 to 10:15 a.m. with the services at St Margaret Mary's Catholic Church at 11 a.m., with Fr. Walsh officiating. Burial will be immediately following at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery. WE LOVED YOU SO MUCH POPPY AND WILL SEE YOU ONE DAY IN HEAVEN!!!
