Aurea Genaro

Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on July 19, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Juan Gomez Rios and the late Antonia Vazquez.

Aurea, who was also affectionately known as “Nana” is survived by her daughters, Brenda Genaro and Elizabeth Reyes and her husband Angel; her grandchildren Carly, Christian, Nicholas and Jayden. Her brother-in-law Louis and his wife Marilyn; her nephews, Louis Jr. (Skipper) and Robert; her niece Milagros Vazquez and family; and her grandpup, Scout.

Nana was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. She always made time for everyone and provided love and support for her family. She was more than happy to be Nana to her grandchildren. They knew and felt that they were the stars in her eye and that’s all that mattered most to her.

She cared deeply for her family, not out of obligation, but because that is who she was. She will be missed by all who knew her. She has now rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings. Until we meet again, we will continue to love you and keep you in our hearts forever.
